No experience needed... Homecare with Heart will teach you everything you need to know to be a great Home Health Aide. We only have room for 12 in our class, and we like to hire shining stars, so do your best to make a good impression, i.e. give us complete information in the application, prepare for your interview if selected, and show us your personality and heart.
Class Specifics:
Interviews Begin: September 9, 2010
Class Dates: Monday, October 11th, 2010 through Friday, October 22, 2010.
Days: Monday - Friday.
Time: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (1/2 Lunch).
Total Hours: 75 (59 classroom hours and 16 clinical hours).
Class Size: 12 Students.
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED.
Background Checks: Drug Screen, Fingerprint, Motor Vehicle, and References.
Vehicle: Must have a reliable vehicle. Rides to class and work are not permitted.
Driver's License/Insurance: Must have current driver's license and vehicle insurance (must have insurance declaration page).
Dress Code: Scrub Uniforms (top and bottom) must be worn during class and clinicals.
Course Study: Private Homecare, Personal Care Skills, Homemaker Skills, Cleaning Skills & CPR Certification.

Job Description Summary:
Home Health Aides are responsible for providing personal care and homemaking services to clients in a homecare setting. Home Health Aides travel from home to home and work 2 - 4 hours shifts in each home.
Home Health Aides:
1. Provide complete or partial bath as directed;
2. Help client with dressing and undressing;
3. Launder client's personal belongings;
4. Assist w/washing client's face, hands, brushing teeth, and making the bed (washing linens as needed);
5. Dust, vacuum and keep client's general living area neat and clean (65% of job);
6. Plan and prepare client's meals following appropriate diet;
7. Run errands to pharmacy and grocery store;
8. Understand basic principles of human behavior; and
9. Exercise common sense, tact, and good judgment with everyone.
Physical Demands:
1. Consistently walk about and occasionally kneel;
2. Frequently climb up and down steps, ramps;
3. Occasionally pull or push objects over 50lbs;
4. Occasionally lift objects of 50lbs from one level to another level;
5. Occasionally demands strenuous physical effort such as handling, climbing, transferring/turning clients.
Applicants must also be able to read and understand various documents, have good math skills, be able to think independently, recognize potential problems, promote customer service and provide exceptional client care at all times.
